Frequently asked questions
Can I dry or store pasta from the Philips Pasta Maker?
Storing pasta from the Philips Pasta Maker: Put some flour on the pasta and keep it wrapped in plastic in the refrigerator.
Drying pasta: Let the pasta dry on the work surface for at least 24 hours. Then put the pasta in a box and leave it unsealed for another 4 days.
If you want to prepare gluten-free pasta at home with the Philips Pasta Maker machine, we recommend using a ready-made flour mixture or quinoa or buckwheat.
The difficulty with making gluten-free pasta is that the pasta breaks easily before cooking, as gluten-free flour does not give the dough enough elasticity. Gluten is a mixture of protein found in wheat and related grains. It gives the dough elasticity so that it can rise and maintain its shape. It also ensures that the end product has a chewy consistency.
Therefore, if you are making gluten-free pasta, we recommend using a thickening agent such as. B. xanthan, guar gum or egg.
We recommend that you do not use coconut flour, almond flour or white rice flour, as these types of flour do not contain any binding agents and the likelihood of success is low.
Which parts of my Philips Pasta Maker are dishwasher safe?
All removable parts and accessories of the Philips Pasta Maker are dishwasher safe. Based on the experience of our users, Philips always recommends washing parts by hand immediately after use, if possible, in order to support their optimal care and durability.
Note:
1. Make sure you select a program with a temperature below 60 °C.
2. Do not forcibly clamp the parts in the dishwasher (especially not the kneading chamber) as this could cause deformation.
